“A brand of humour missing from modern blues” - Eduard Banulescu

RUDY is a Boise based five-piece whose music is founded in blues rock with explorations into psych, groove, and country-inspired rock.
There are Jam Bands and Bands That Jam. RUDY is the latter. While not being specifically a jam band, RUDY is inspired by the likes of the Grateful Dead, The Band, Goose, King Gizzard and The Black Keys. RUDY embodies the spirit of live performance like many classic rock and roll bands before them, bringing in new ideas and musical motifs night in and night out. Having played gigs in and around Boise like Treefort Music Fest, headlining shows at the Shrine Basement, and a supporting slot for nationally touring Dogs In A Pile, RUDY brings their psych blues rock energy to every room big and small.
The five-piece consists of Aaron Manley (vocals, guitar), Luke Samuels (keys), Patrick Herzog (bass), Ty Naymik (drums, vocals), and Tyler Freeman (guitar). Freeman, Herzog, Manley and Naymik have been playing as RUDY since the summer of 2024, with Samuels joining in the fall of 2025.
In the summer of 2025 the band released their first EP, RUDY. The EP includes the standout track ‘Honey Dripper’, a song which has become a live staple.
After receiving the opportunity to open for jam band, Dogs In A Pile, RUDY released their first live album. ‘Live at Shrine Ballroom 01.29.26’ was released in March 2026, these live cuts showcase RUDY as a tight unit. Songs like ‘Book Me Now!’ and ‘Last Cold Beer’ come alive in the atmosphere they were written specifically for.
